Preparing to keep a field journal offline
Check offline readiness before leaving and understand the difference between saving a photo on your device and syncing it to the server.
Prepare while connected
Sign into Qorax, open Offline Observations and check that the app is prepared on your device. A full offline launch requires the application shell to have been downloaded in a supported browser. Private browsing or clearing device storage may remove local records; keep browser data until important observations have synced.
Know where the record lives
An observation and its photos first enter the local queue in that browser when you are offline. They are not yet visible from other devices. Distinguish pending records from completed uploads. Syncing requires a verified online session for the same account.
- Check that the photo and note appear in the queue after saving.
- Review privacy before sharing sensitive coordinates.
- Check the sync result when your connection returns.
Remember account separation
Local queues are separated by account. Switching accounts should not expose one person’s photos to another. Sign out when you finish on a shared device. If sign-in is required again, continue with your own account.
Retrying does not mean another observation
Each local record carries a sync identifier. Retrying after a connection failure should not create a duplicate. After a successful sync, check the observation journal on the server. This feature does not provide offline live maps or offline model inference; those tools require connectivity and their services.
