Sharing sourced knowledge with the community

Distinguish experience, sources and guesses. Share species cards, campsite records and project contributions with their context intact.

Describe your experience clearly

You can share an observation from personal experience or discuss information from another source with a link. Make the distinction clear. Who took a photo, when it was taken and what licence permits its use all matter. Avoid presenting an unsupported claim as established fact.

Use the record card

Species, campsite and academy cards in Qorax Social and Qorax Forum connect a discussion to the relevant record. Open the original record to inspect its sources and current information. Member comments do not replace an operator’s official notice or scientific verification.

Give permission when sharing with a team

Joining a project does not automatically expose your private observations. Use the explicit sharing option when you want to contribute your own observation to a team. You can withdraw sharing, and access changes when membership changes. You do not have to expose sensitive coordinates.

Reputation and expertise are different

Helpful comments and reviewed contributions can count towards a contribution level. Points alone grant neither administrative powers nor scientific expertise. Expert review uses a separate approval for specified organism groups. Discussing different views with clear evidence builds more useful shared knowledge than collecting points.
